The Department of Forestry &NEA is part of the Karpenisi Branch of the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Central Greece. The Department aims at providing top-level education of applied scientific knowledge in Forestry and Natural Environment, while promoting modern forestry technology skills. The department participates actively in European Research Programmes and contributes significantly to applied forest research in Greece.

Dr. Yannis Raftoyannis is professor at the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management, School of Agricultural Technology and Food Technology and Nutrition of Central Greece University of Applied Sciences. He graduated from the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds a doctorate (Ph.D.) from the School of Plant Sciences, University of Reading, UK. He teaches courses in Forest Protection and Forest Fires, he has published numerous works in scientific journals and conferences and participates in research projects with a special interest on the protection and restoration of forest ecosystems.

Dr. Andreas Papadopoulos is professor at the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management, School of Agricultural Technology and Food Technology and Nutrition of Central Greece University of Applied Sciences. He is a graduate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with postgraduate and doctoral studies at the University of Aix-Marseille III of France and his research includes forest ecology, dendroecology and dendroclimatology.
